Study of the operating principle of an action turbine

Characteristic curves at constant head

Familiarization with the relationship between torque and speed

Study of how efficiency is dependent on speed

Study of how flow rate is dependent on speed

Study of how hydraulic power and mechanical power are dependent on speed

Conducting evaluation of measuring values and characteristics based on the theory

Investigation of partial load behavior with controlling the number of nozzles in comparison to throttle control

Sensors for flow rate and pressure

Should require no additional devices with error-prone wiring

Integrated microprocessor-based instrumentation

Display and evaluation of the measured values as well as operation of the unit via software

Pump with power consumption 0.66KW, 35m head at least

Transparent water tank 15L

Flow rate measurement range: 4 to 50 L/min

Pressure measurement range: -1 to 5 bar

Data acquisition unit with software with control functions

Active nozzles adjustable by valves

Wear-free and adjustable eddy current brake as turbine load

Turbine with power output: 28W at 3580 rpm and rotor diameter: 50mm

Force sensor with torque measurement range: 0 to 0.5Nm

Optical speed sensor with speed measurement range: 0 to 8900 rpm
